We’ve adopted the Shared Ownership Code

We’re one of the first housing providers in the south of England to adopt the new Shared Ownership Code. And, it’s all about making the experience simpler, clearer and fairer for our customers.

So, what’s the Shared Ownership Code?

In short, it’s a new set of standards for how Shared Ownership homes are marketed, bought and managed.

It’s a voluntary code of practice that has been developed by the Shared Ownership Council to raise standards across the sector, by improving transparency, fairness and customer support for shared owners.

It doesn’t replace existing rules - it builds on them. And, it raises the bar across the sector.

Why this matters

Shared Ownership is a great way to get onto the housing ladder. But let’s be honest — the experience hasn’t always been as straightforward as it should be. That’s exactly what this Code is here to fix. By adopting it, we’re making a clear commitment. One that means:

clearer information from the start
better support along the way
and a more open, transparent experience overall.

Because buying a home is a big moment. And, it should feel like one for all the right reasons.

What we’ve been doing behind the scenes

We haven’t just signed up and carried on as usual. We’ve taken a proper look at how we do things, from our processes to our training and to the way we communicate. And, we’ve made changes to bring everything in line with the Code.
It gives us a consistent framework to work from. But more importantly, it helps us keep improving - and keep doing right by our customers.
